rEUman’s journey continues at Lumibird, C.R.&C. and Olimpia Splendid
MILAN, 16TH-18TH June - rEUman partners meet for second live meeting to advance remanufacturing pilots across three demonstration sites in Northern Italy
rEUman partners reconvened for their second live meeting, this time travelling across northern Italy to visit key consortium partners: Lumibird, C.R.&C., and Olimpia Splendid. The multi-stop journey in Turin, Burago di Molgora (near Monza and Brianza) and Cellatica (near Brescia) offered valuable insights into real-life challenges of the pilot cases and deepened the technical and strategic discussions necessary to drive forward the rEUman's mission of unlocking the remanufacturing potential across diverse sectors.
An intensive journey focused on opto-electronics industry represented by Lumibird and HVAC represented by Olimpia Splendid, giving participants an opportunity to see the operational realities of each use case. At C.R.&C. the partners learned about the state of the art in repair and remanufacturing of telecommunication equipment and electronics boards in lightning, energy and RF industry.

Each visit offered valuable insights into current challenges and innovation pathways for applying rEUman’s enabling technologies, such as data-enhanced electronics regeneration, and human-centric smart disassembly.
Following the excursions, workshops and presentations at Politecnico Milano allowed for in-depth analysis of the pilot requirements and enabled the consortium to co-design adaptation strategies that will be implemented over the coming months. The meetings also facilitated important cross-links between technical tasks in different work packages, fostering a collaborative and agile approach to progressing the project roadmap.
Data management aspects centred on the Digital Product Passport (DPP)
The gathering concluded with a strategic alignment session, where partners agreed on concrete next steps, including DPP-compliant data management platform and hybrid disassembly planning. This coordination ensures that the knowledge gathered during the visits will translate into actionable results across the project’s remaining timeline.
Building on the success of this second live meeting, rEUman continues to execute its dissemination and communication plan, preparing for its upcoming workshop at Beko in Turkey in autumn, which will explore use cases in the home appliances sector. After Turkey, the journey continues early next year in Germany.
Stay tuned for more updates as rEUman moves from exploration to implementation, showcasing how European innovation can lead the way in sustainable remanufacturing.
