Objectives

rEUman aims to establish a new paradigm for remanufacturing in Europe. By combining advanced technologies, digital solutions and human-centred approaches, the project seeks to make remanufacturing safer, more flexible and more efficient while enabling wider adoption across industrial sectors.

The rEUman Vision
Human-safe
Supporting operators with human-centred technologies and digital decision support.
Target-driven
Achieving high regeneration rates while ensuring product functionality and quality.
Flexible
Adapting remanufacturing processes to the varying conditions of returned products.
Robust and Replicable
Providing solutions that can be transferred across sectors and remanufacturing maturity levels.
From Vision to Action
Smart Inspection and Traceability

Development of advanced vision systems to assess the quality of returned products and improve traceability throughout the remanufacturing process.

Advanced Regeneration Processes

Development of innovative technologies to restore electronic and mechanical components and increase recovery capabilities.

Digital Product Passport and Data Platform

Creation of a Digital Product Passport-compliant platform to enable secure and standardised information exchange.

Industrial Validation

Demonstration of the rEUman approach in five demonstrators across automotive, household appliances and optoelectronics.

Human-Centred Technologies

Introduction of collaborative and safe solutions for disassembly and human-robot interaction to improve efficiency and worker support.

Adaptive Reassembly

Implementation of function-oriented reassembly strategies based on component condition and target performance requirements.

AI-Enabled Digital Services

Development of intelligent services supporting decision-making, process adaptation and stable core supply.

Skills and Training

Provision of training mechanisms and learning resources to prepare future remanufacturing experts.
