Meet our research partner University of Bristol
The University of Bristol is a globally renowned research institution with 35000 students, consistently ranked among the top universities in the world (QS 54), with a strong emphasis on innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The involved school in the project is the School of Electrical, Electronic, and Mechanical Engineering (EEME) whicht brings together engineering expertise collaborating with industry to tackle complex engineering problems and advance technological innovation.
The research group involved is the Design Manufacturing Futures (DMF) Lab which is at the forefront of research in digital and additive manufacturing technologies, enabling sustainable, efficient, and flexible production processes through collaboration with industry and academia.

Remanufacturing is a critical enabler of the circular economy which in turn is a key element of global green transitions through facilitation of reduction in waste and energy usage. The University of Bristol is excited to be part of this dynamic pan-European consortium, that with its substantive industry links, will be able to create new ways of remanufacturing and directly implement them in companies’ production processes. The business models we will create as per our focus in this project will be relevant not only to the project’s industry partners but in manufacturing more generally and as such will have significant impact on remanufacturing uptake.

rEUman spans both technical/factory and business/value chain levels of remanufacturing. UoB’s main role in the rEUman project lies at the value chain level where we are involved with the development of business and value chain models that will enable remanufacturing to take place in industries in a manner that is sustainable from social, environmental and economic perspectives.
