Why we are motivated to participate in the rEUman Project?

As a manufacturing company with a strong R&D focus, we’re always seeking innovative ways to advance industries. We see remanufacturing as a crucial process for resource conservation, waste reduction, and long-term sustainability — issues that are increasingly important for both manufacturers and consumers. By participating in this project, we can extensively research and directly influence the design and development of machinery tailored to remanufacturing needs, such as robotized but still human-centric complex disassembly, ensuring compatibility with refurbished components, and improving material reuse efficiency. This involvement also allows us to integrate valuable insights into our R&D, keeping us at the forefront of technological innovation. Ultimately, it strengthens our role as a leader in the emerging need towards machinery that supports the circular economy and sustainability agenda. We’re excited to be part of this transformative journey, shaping the future of manufacturing.

HEPENIX’s role at rEUman

Our tasks in the project include:

  • Expertise on disassembly, assembly, storage and handling technologies available and useful in the remanufacturing processes

  • Mechanical/mechatronic engineering and system integration expertise, which are crucial for successful implementation.

  • Automation and robotics engineering to enhance system performance and capabilities.

  • Machine design and development, ensuring that the solutions meet the project’s specific needs.

  • Application of virtual commissioning models to streamline the process and ensure efficiency.
